Endorses Independent Farid A. Khavari for Governor

Former Democratic gubernatorial candidate in the Florida primaries, Brian P. Moore, endorsed Independent Candidate Farid A. Khavari, for governor, in the general elections scheduled for November 2nd.

At a Khavari campaign event at the Rasmussen Kendall Hotel & Suites in South Miami, Florida, on Sunday, October 3, 2010, Moore stated in his speech that Democratic nominee for governor, Alex Sink, "...the one-term 'so-called' Democrat, has demonstrated an ability to be 'more Republican' than her Republican opponent."

Moore, by accident, brought down the house, when he opened his endorsement speech with preliminary critical remarks of both major party candidates, Democratic nominee Alex Sink and Republican primary winner, Rick Scott. Moore identified them as 'Alex Scott and Rick Sink.' The maverick Democrat said he "was unable to continue speaking as the audience of 50 people erupted in laughter and applause." Moore added that "there is more truth than fiction" to his verbal stumble with both major party candidates "coming from the same mold, with the same old ideas and unworkable solutions, and both are recipients of the same big money from corporations and special interests."

Moore asked for the "audience's patience" as he wove his 12-page hand-written endorsement speech for Farid Khavari by first criticizing the two major party candidates "as a contrast to Independent Khavari's strengths."

Moore challenged Ms. Sink's TV ad claims that she "cares about Floridians" and is "transparent" in her activities by talking about Florida and calling for five debates with Mr. Scott. Yet, Moore criticized Sink for her "non-existent primary campaign," calling for "no debates, attended almost no forums, filled out no surveys and did not interact once with her Democratic primary opponent and very little with her Republican and independent opponents." Moore asked the audience if this is a gubernatorial candidate who "really cares about Floridians", and is "transparent to Floridians?" He labeled her claims and action as "hypocritical."

Moore also offered examples of Ms. Sink's "Republicanism" by her support of the Bush tax cuts extension for the wealthy, her compromise and backtracking on the student class size amendment, her nebulousness on opposing drilling for oil in the gulf (before & after the spill), her failure to support gay rights and marriage, and her silence on supporting both a single payer health system or even a public option. Moore added that the most brazen example is her "embrace of big corporate monies and contributions." Moore added further examples of Ms. Sink's support of corporate tax cuts and small business tax breaks as her solutions for unemployment, which are "pure republican and fossilized solutions" to a "bereft state economy and increasing unemployment."

Moore took on Republican Rick Scott as well, including his criticism of both candidates "with trickle-down, trickle-out policies." Moore criticized Scott for proposing tax cuts for corporations, reduced unemployment benefits, less business regulations and the layoff of 6,500 state workers. Moore also took Scott to task for his "turning a blind eye to his companies fraud, or his ineptitude in not knowing about it; plus "his acceptance and full embrace of corporate and special interest monies as well."

The maverick Democrat, and former socialist, asked the audience, which candidate is worse, Sink or Scott? The Hernando County Democrat said both major party candidates "turned a blind eye to wrong-doing in their previously respective banking and health industries," laid off thousands of employees, and now claim they have the "business expertise" to run a state, improve the economy and increase jobs. Moore labeled that "unrealistic and false thinking." Moore concluded his criticism by labeling both candidates "as lacking in personal and professional ethics."

Then the Democratic primary candidate addressed his endorsement of Farid A. Khavari, where he was straightforward and brief.

Moore lauded Dr. Khavari for his advocacy of a state banking system, similar to what Moore promoted in the primary election and in 2008 as a presidential candidate. He also applauded Dr. Khavari's academic training, with a PhD in economics, and his authorship of 9 books on the economy.

Guest speaker Moore also said that Khavari was "more of a Democrat than the Democratic nominee Sink," and that Dr. Khavari's policies demonstrated this with regard to his positions on the banking system, oil drilling opposition, support of gay marriage and his opposition to extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. Moore said that Farid Khavari's practical and innovative solutions for jobs and improving the economy, were positive actions and constructive, and made him an "obvious Democrat" and an "obvious choice" for Florida Democrats for Kharvari's gubernatorial candidacy.

The rebel Democrat also was laudatory of economist Khavari for his "strength of character and personal courage" in light of seeing his father murdered in Iran, his mother threatened by the same Khomeini regime, and his personal decision to move to the United States and begin a new life in a new culture, away from his home country, family and friends.

Moore concluded, Ms. Sink "did not acknowledge my own candidacy primary election night at her victory party," nor his 201,850 Democratic votes, nor the very reason she "was even given the opportunity" to declare a victory, and on national television. Moore said, contrary to the treatment afforded him "by an ungracious and arrogant Alex Sink," he "fully recognizes" Dr. Khavari's presence in Florida's 2010 general election race, lauds and supports Dr. Khavari's ideas and personal courage, and more importantly, "fully and proudly endorses" Dr. Farid A. Khavari for governor of the state of Florida.

Yard Signs

The Brian P. Moore campaign for Governor after reviewing several signage companies decided we are to reduce our carbon footprint and recycle. This means the Moore campaign will not be sending out signs to save oil from being used. What we ask is that you the supporter come up with a creative sign that can be made and recycled locally. This will help keep trash down and meet local ordinances for sign removal.
